Reno Mayor Bob Cashell was sporting a rather large bandage on his hand as he officially opened the 2009 Artown season at Wingfield Park Wednesday. When asked, Cahshell said he had been bitten by a raccoon. Apparently he was trying to protect his granddaughter’s dog from the masked mammal.
