Best View From a New Ski Lodge

We were loving the view from the new Winters Creek Lodge at Mt. Rose the other day.  The feeling is light and modern with lots of giant windows and plenty of places to sit and enjoy the scenery.  It has that ‘new building feel.’  Add to that the relentless snow in the Sierra, and the slopes are practically begging us to get out and ski (or board, it that’s what you prefer.)

The food was pretty good too.  We sampled the burgers and roast beef panini.

Had some good runs down the Slide side of the mountain.  I love the fact that the blue runs on Slide are harder than the blue runs at most resorts.   A point of local pride, I suppose.  As if we’re saying ‘we can take it because we live at the foot of the Sierra.’
